The corner is my go-to spot every time I’m in Connecticut! The food is always fresh and flavorful, but the standout for me is the African Hash—absolutely delicious and packed with so much flavor. Pairing it with their spiced chai makes for the perfect meal. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make it a must-visit. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by!
I can always appreciate a very warm home like eatery. I was invited out for breakfast/brunch to this cute spot . The menu was hefty which I did not mind because I like to have plenty of choices. I sat at the bar area. Oh I forgot to mention the festive drink menu. so very cute. Now for the order, regular french toast and the African hash. Both dishes were very well crafted. French toast was thick cut and warm . African hash which was featured in peoples magazine . That dish consisted of spicy beef lentil hash served over an english muffin topped with a poached egg ( you can have your egg any way you would like), crispy potato carvings and bearnaise sauce with home fries on the side. i enjoyed it much. I was full after my french toast I was looking forward to the African hash. There are several dishes that have been recognized. I almost tried the duck wrap which was on food network, but I was not gangsta enough but I heard it is very good. My head kept following every dish that came from the kitchen because everything looked so good. Service was great by the way. I will def be returning.
A while back so I don’t remember the dish names but everything was pretty good. There’s some free street parking outside. The wait took a bit, since there was a long line. Seating is a bit cramped as the interior is small. Overall, I think I was mostly happy as someone else paid for it.
Picked up Sunday breakfast and headed to the beach. We got takeout and the food was so good. I’ve never been here before and can’t imagine how good the food is if we were to dine in because the takeout food was so good. The portions are large and they don’t cut you short on anything. I made my own omelette and it was full of bacon. Each bite had several pieces of bacon in it. The pulled pork sandwich is also another must try. You won’t be disappointed, trying this place out for breakfast by any means and most likely will have leftovers which is always a plus
What a fantastic breakfast! We’re here in New Haven on a college tour and on a whim decided to pop into The Corner Restaurant. The decor is rather eclectic and is filled with antique knickknacks. Service was fast and super efficient and kind. Great menu knowledge by the staff. I had the duck and my son had the empanada. Both are extraordinarily delicious. I can say without hesitation that this is the most you eat breakfast menu I’ve had in forever. I would strongly urge you to come and taste the magic!
I had the Malaysian spiced pulled pork topped with over medium egg, crispy fried onions and shredded ginger and a crisp rice wafer bowl with a stone hearth bread and home fries. My friend had the South Indian Spiced Pulled Duck Wrapped in Bacon layered tortilla with scrambled eggs and a mild cheese.. for the table I ordered Apple, Cinnamon, Raisin and Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast. I’m beyond full. The food was so delicious.
Cozy spot for incredible breakfast with many unique menu options from around the world. Mud experience was so good, I will go out of my way in the future to return again and again.
Unique and cozy atmosphere. You feel like you’re visiting a relative’s house. Awesome and unique menu. Food and drink are delicious. Fairly priced. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Definitely a must try!
